Q - the paper drawer is not opening, it is locked up
A - I know that it is common amongst Minolta CSPro copiers to have one drawer, or the duplexer not working some times. Please bear in mind that this is not a defect but a feature.
If the control board of the machine detects a problem with one of the paper drawers, it will isolate that specific tray so that you can use the remaining trays to make copies until a technician arrives. Before the technician arrives, there is one thing you can do.
If you look on the bottom left of the screen (I am referring to the Minolta copiers with the touch screens), you will see a picture of a little wrench. Push on that wrench and you will see a core pop up on the screen. While the code is on the screen, open and close the front door.
I always advise the customers to push the button and open the drawer within seconds of resetting the code. This way, if the problem was paper, they will have the opportunity to fix the paper before it pops the same code again.
If it happens again and you are able to open and close the drawer with the wrench on the screen, open the drawer and take all the paper out of it. Try resetting the drawer while empty. Most to the time, it will reset
If none of these tips works, then you can all for service.
