Our copier almost always distorts pages we put into the top page feeder.
print on either the left or right side is usually lower than than it is on the original by about 1/8 of an inch and often more.
Of course, if we make a new generation of copies the distortion is multiplied greatly.
I have a feeling our copier technician is full of it.
she says that:
A) if the original is crooked, then that will be emphasized in the copy. I believe that, but that still means that the copier is making our copies MORE crooked.
B) (and this is the one I really don't believe at all) she says that the copier intentionally offsets copies from originals due to copyright laws. But what if I want precise copies of something I own the copyright of?
And don't some copyright agreements actually prohibit any alteration to copyrighted materials?
Even if a photocopy being off by 1/8 inch had anything to do with copyright, this would break copyright law more often than it protected it.
What do you think?

I think our technician (who is required under our warranty contract to repair the copier for free) is just trying to get out of repairing the thing.
