Sharp Ar M-277 Printer Driver Installation

Home > Copier Repair Tips Forum > Sharp AR M-277 printer driver installation

My church purchased the Sharp AR M-277 printer copier we had been leasing for four years.

To obtain the highest quality photos copies, we would like to print our parish directory, including parishioner photos, on this machine by using it as a printer, not a copier.

I went to the Sharp website and downloaded printer drivers that appeared to be compatible with the M-277 machine and my XP laptop.

I appeared to have succeeded installing the PS and PCL drivers on my laptop.

I can see the new printer icons in FAX/PRINTER section of the control panel and I did restart the laptop to insure the driver installations were activated.

Also, I can set either printer icon as the default printer and when I go to start a test print I can see the correct driver indicated in the print command window.

But I do not understand which of these drivers is the one I need.

I tried both and neither worked.

The printer status monitor seems to indicate the the print job has started, but there does not appear to be any response from the M-277.

Q1: How can I be sure that our Sharp is equipped with printer functionality?

Q2: It does have a USB and printer cable connector on it. Does that guarantee it is equipped with a printer card?

Q3: Any ideas what I can be doing wrong?
