Tips For Removing Lines On The Copies

Copier Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting and Repair Tips > Copy Quality problems

If there is a line, sometimes long black line going down or across the page. This is usually a cleaning blade problem.

Such a problem would require you to call for service.

Black lines in the feeding direction could be a worn cleaning blade or there is something stuck on the surface of the cleaning blade

The fusing unit can cause marks on the page also

The upper fusing roller normally leave lines down the page when they are not functioning properly or they are worn out.

Such a problem would require you to call for service.

Removing the paper jams properly can extend the life of the fusing unit

If you are not careful, you can break one of the fingers in the unit which will in turn scratch Teflon coating in the Upper Fuser Roller.  It is just like the non-stick pans in your house.  That is sometimes what causes the lines.

I hope you have a service contract because rebuilding the fusing unit can run into some money.  If you don't have a service contract, speak to your service center about getting one.
