Copier Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting and Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting Guide Q - MY COPIER IS MAKING LIGHT COPIESMY COPIER IS MAKING LIGHT COPIES, HOW CAN I MAKE THE COPIES DARKER
A - For all the architects out there who want the copier to be running perfectly, this report is dedicated to all of you.
First of all, if you are copying something written in pencil, you may notice that copies are light, this is normal. simply increase the density on the control panel of the copier manually to make a darker copy.
By default the following originals will be lighter:
- An original written in pencil
- A carbon copy of a document
- a Document from a dot matri printer.
- basicaly any document that is is not written in solid ink.
In cases like these you have to manually set the density to dark
Other causes for light copies is if the copier needs toner, or if the mirrors in the the scanner are dirty (call for service).
When was the last time you had the developper replaced in your copy machine?
How old is the drum in your copy machine?
Dirty transfer corona wires can also cause light copies.
If you are getting light copies on all originals then you may have to call your local copier repair technician to come in a take a look
I hope you have a service contract because drums are expensive!
