Copier Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting and Repair Tips > Paper Trays, Paper Jams, Copy Paper I've seen many damages done my customers because they are trying too hard to remove the paper jam. If there is a jam that you cannot clear, Please call your service center and ask that they send a technician right away.
TIP >> Please do not try to remove paper jams with screwdrivers, coat hangers, long nose pliers, etc. You may end up damaging the most expensive parts of the machine the Drum or the Fuser Rollers.
Even if you have a contract, you may still be liable for these parts. You may not be aware of it but there is an abuse and misuse clause in your copy machine service contract.
If you don't have a copier service contract... well...
Here goes your bonus!
Removing the paper jam is one thing. After you are done. you still have to reset the machine.
Try opening and closing the front door or pressing a reset button; which ever method your copier uses.
If this does not work call your local service center.
You probably have a faulty sensor in the paper path or there may be a little piece of paper stuck underneath one of the sensors.
TIP >> When Removing a Paper Jam, Try your best to make sure the paper comes out in one piece. if not , the little piece that you cannot find can cause all kinds of jams. See "removing paper jams"
