When you say original does not feed, there a few things to look at:
Did you remember to remove all staples from the original?
Does the original move at all? if not,
check to see if you are not trying to feed too many originals at once.
Fan the originals and make sure they are not stuck together.
Make sure the original document is seated properly
Perhaps the feeder is not closed properly or the copier might sense an
original on the glass. check the status of the feeder. Try opening and closing
it.
Does it go through the motion except the paper does not go pass the feed
tires? (It then displays a jam)
The feed tires may be dirty and slipping.
Do you see any "lip" on the original that was jammed? If so,
there may be something stuck on feed section, Most likely a staple preventing
the paper from going through TIP >> Align that original
with the feeding entrance, look through the path where the lip is on the paper
to see what is blocking it. Try to remove it if you can.
Are there more than one sheets trying to go through at the same time (Double
feeding)? The separator pads/rollers may be dirty
If you feed the documents "face up", does is jam when it is turning
over? The copier may not detect the paper being fed through due to a
dirty sensor or a pad
If all fails, call your service center and have the copier serviced.
You can always ask the tech what the problem was and if it is something
that you could have done your self, please be sure to post it on our Copier
Forum.
