Copier Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting and Repair Tips > General Information I have been in the copy machine service industry since 1997 and I have seen almost every problem that occurs with a copy machine, a fax machine, or a printer.
One of my customers saw the first few page as I wrote it (This was intended to be an eBook by the way), and she said that it wouldn’t be good for us technicians to have information like this out there.
I think it would benefit us the copy machine technicians and the copier service company re represent because the more you know about your copy machine, the less down time you have, and the better it is for us...
We don't mind being the Maytag man...
We need to be out there taking care of real copy machine problems and keeping up with new technologies as they come around. The copy machine company we work for needs to establish a great relationship with you the customer. Therefore, the lonter your copy machine says up and running, the more you trust us, our company and our products.
She also told me that it might be a conflict of interest.
Well... we don't have to worry about that any more because I no longer work as a copier technician.
What I write in this web site is the same thing I have taught my copy machine customers over the years. Again, there is no screwdriver or pliers necessary to do this.
Screwdrivers and plyers... That is for us copier technicians to deal with...
As you probably can tell, you still need a service contract. :)
One of the main focuses of our job is customer service. What I see happening a lot with these copy machines and other office equipments is that when you need them the most - When they are at their peak usage - something goes wrong and you go nuts.
You start blaming the copy machine, or the fax fax machine - I’ll leave the printer out most of the time because it does not break down as often as the copy machine and fax does - and you blame me the copier technician, the copier service department and everyone in the office who used it.
Wait a minute...
Didnt you notice?
We don’t replace parts at every service call.
If you parts wer replaced I guarrantee you it was a silly issue that you could've probably prevented.
Most of the parts we replace are preventive maintenance parts, parts that wear out and needs to be replaced over time.
Think about it, even the human heart needs to be replaced sometimes!

2.0 out of 5 stars Good Printer Lousy Fax The printing feautres are exceptional for a low end printer. The scanner has a more than adequate resolution. As a stand-alone fax it would also be good.
