Replacing The Toner Bottle

Copier Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting and Repair Tips > Copier Troubleshooting Guide

Q- WHY DO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BOTTLE WHEN THE TONER LIGHT IS NOT EVEN ON?

A- When the toner light is on, that means the toner level inside the developer has dropped below the minimum required level - I am trying not to be technical - and now, it is in "begging" mode now. "Give me some food!"

Replacing the toner in time is like replacing you engine oil every three thousand miles. It extends the life of the developer inside - especially for you guys out there without a service contract.

Rule of thumb, if the copies are coming out light, or the copier is cycling constantly between copies, first thing to check is how much toner is left on that bottle. Chances are it is empty.

It is also a good idea to have a bottle on stand by at all times. What this means is that when you load last bottle in, call your service provider and place the order. Don’t wait until it desperately needs it to wonder whether Staples sells toner for your brand copier. Be sides, I believe in genuine parts.

If you are having any king of trouble, Call your service provider and place a service call.
